Kerry Shanta

I am a volunteer trustee on Te Araroa Northland Trust ( TANT) which falls under the umbrella of TAT (Te Araroa Trust). Te Araroa trail spans the length of NZ from Te Rerenga Wairua to Bluff. The trail travels the length of Te Oneroa-a-Tohe.

I lived most of my childhood in Northland. I attended Awanui Primary school and Kaitaia College. We lived mostly at the Aupouri Forest Headquarters approximately 4kms north of Waipapakauri. Te Oneroa-a-Tohe was walking distance from where we lived. As a child I spent many times with my Dad ( Des Ogle) traveling up and down Te-Oneroa-a-Tohe in his forestry Jeep.

Te Oneroa-a-Tohe will always hold many fond memories and a special place in my heart for me.
