James Williams
Dr James Williams is a fisheries scientist with a research speciality in marine invertebrate biology, ecology and fisheries with direct application to resource management. He has expertise and experience in leading survey assessment and fisheries ecology projects on inshore shellfish. James has particular experience conducting beach surveys at Te Oneroa-a-Tōhe and Ripiro beaches to estimate the abundance, distribution and size structure of toheroa and tuatua populations and undertook a review of factors affecting toheroa abundance. He is interested in how ecological factors affect key biological processes such as recruitment, growth and mortality and how advances in scientific methods and technology can provide new insights.
